Community Minded, Future Focused
Many people care about the City of Hudson and would like to share their resources in a lasting way, but feel they can’t make a difference alone. For such people, the Hudson Community Foundation (HCF) can be of service. The HCF can give you the satisfaction of being charitable and knowing your gift will be put to good use in the community.
Founded in 1999, the HCF provides funding in the areas of education, human services, civic projects, youth, and the environment. Through our affiliation with the St. Croix Valley Foundation, HCF enjoys a strong breadth of resources, experienced staff and other benefits.

How does a foundation like ours work?
Community foundations historically create a pool of donors with diverse interests from diverse backgrounds who have a common goal of enhancing the quality of life in their community. Their contributions provide for a long-term investment where assets can grow in what is called a permanent endowment. Earnings from these assets are then given back to the community in the form of grants. This is how we use our Community Needs Fund.
What are the benefits of working with HCF?
Well, we offer donors simplicity and flexibility in charitable giving, maximum tax advantages and the knowledge that their gift will benefit their community in perpetuity. A community foundation exists to help create a healthy and vital community in which all people have the opportunity to enhance the quality of their lives. HCF ensures this is happening in Hudson.
The St. Croix Valley Foundation is the administration and fund management arm for 10 local affiliated community foundations. The focus of the SCVF is larger in scope regionally.
The Hudson Community Foundation is one of the 10 local affiliates served and assisted by the SCVF. The HCF is focused locally to improve the quality of life for all residents of the Hudson community.
